For this Farmington Hills home, the goal was simple: the walkout lower level should feel every bit as elevated + considered as the main floor. The full renovation transformed what could have been secondary living space into a true extension of the home—designed for entertaining, gathering and everyday living.

At the center is a chef-inspired entertaining kitchen, designed with the function, materiality + detail we'd expect upstairs. An oversized dining space, layered living and recreation areas + a thoughtfully finished guest bath complete the floor, creating distinct spaces that still feel connected and intentional.

The result is a lower level that doesn't read like a basement at all. Warm, sophisticated + designed with the same level of detail as the rest of the home—because the best square footage in a house shouldn't be reserved for the first floor.
