For KIG Insurance’s new Southfield headquarters, we set out to challenge what an insurance office could feel like—pairing the function of a high-performing workplace with a warmer, more residential point of view. Rich materials, layered textures, custom details + collected furnishings create an environment that feels polished and professional without ever feeling traditionally corporate.

Throughout the office, we used hospitality as a lens for the employee + client experience. Comfortable gathering spaces, thoughtful lighting and tailored details—including the boardroom’s dramatic custom drapery—bring softness and personality to the workplace while creating distinct moments throughout the day. Recognized with a Detroit Design award this space boldy takes design risks that paid off with design energy.

The result is a headquarters that feels elevated, approachable + distinctly KIG: proof that professional spaces can still have personality—and that the places we work deserve to feel every bit as considered as the places we live.
